Family Engagement at Lazear

At Lazear Charter Academy, families are essential partners in our mission.

We know that when schools and families work together, students feel more confident, supported, and empowered to thrive. Whether you're looking to volunteer, visit your child's classroom, or join a schoolwide event — you belong here, and your voice matters.

Our Commitment to Partnership

At Lazear, we believe every student’s success is a shared responsibility — and families are their first and most important teachers.

We’re committed to creating meaningful, culturally relevant opportunities for connection, support, and shared decision-making. Together, we:

  • Collaborate on learning goals and student growth
  • Celebrate culture, community, and classroom milestones
  • Build strong home-school relationships rooted in trust and respect
  • Create spaces where families feel seen, safe, and empowered

“We rise to the occasion — together.”

Ways to Connect & Contribute

We welcome and encourage family involvement in many forms. Here’s how you can get involved at Lazear:

Classroom Visits & Observations

  • Parents are welcome to sit in on classroom learning after arranging a time with their child’s teacher.
  • For the first two months of TK & K, we ask parents to help students adjust by allowing independent classroom transitions.
  • After Coffee with the Principal, families in attendance are invited to visit classrooms.

Volunteering

  • Volunteers can support classrooms by helping prep materials, organize libraries, or assist with school-wide events.
  • Reach out to your child’s teacher directly via ParentSquare to get started.
  • To volunteer at events or in school-wide projects, contact Rocio Gonzalez, Parent Coordinator at rgonzalez@efcps.net.
